The Maury Commodores conquer the competition

Maury High School’s football team has scored over 80 points twice in a row at home this season.

The Maury Commodores maintain their dominance at Powhatan Field with Friday’s 81–0 senior night victory over Churchland High School that came after defeating Norview High School 85–0 during the previous week’s homecoming game.

So far, the Commodores have a win streak of 9–0.

Head Coach Dyrri McCain says that the team needs to focus on the goal and try not to get comfortable, but he remains positive.

“I love my guys on good days and bad days,” McCain says. “I love the support from the Maury students and everyone who comes to support us.”

Amos King, sophomore at Maury, thinks the Commodores have come a long way from how they were a couple years ago.

“It’s nice to see them back at the top.”

The Commodores play Granby High School on November 3rd.
