Maury’s girls and boys basketball teams defeat Granby

Maury High School beat Granby High School twice Wednesday night.

During Wednesday night’s doubleheader, Maury’s girls and boys basketball teams defeated Granby, and both games were competitive outings.

Maury’s girls basketball team defeated Granby 61-58 in a nailbiter. Junior Sarajane Walker led all scorers with 22 points. Senior Myla Parker was Maury’s second leading scorer with 13 points.

Maury’s boys basketball team defeated Granby 75-69, fighting off a comeback effort in the fourth quarter. Senior Jayvion Green led the team with 20 points, including 5 three-pointers.

Maury girls remain undefeated at 5-0. The Maury boys are 5-1. The girls will play against Norfolk Collegiate at home Dec. 19 and the boys will play Glen Allen at Bethel High School Dec. 21.
