Maury girls basketball made a strong showing in the Boo Williams Holiday Classic, advancing to the finals, but it wasn’t quite enough.

Maury girls basketball suffered their first loss of the season in the championship round of the Boo Williams Holiday Classic on Saturday to Hampton Roads Academy.

Maury beat Lakeland High School 51-29 on Thursday and then defeated Miller School 48-36 on Friday.

However, they fell to Hampton Roads Academy 60-38 on Saturday. Senior Myla Parker led Maury with 15 points in the losing effort.

The Maury girls are now 8-1 on the season. They will play against Lake Taylor High School at home Jan. 10.
