Maury boys basketball takes down Lake Taylor

Maury boys basketball defeated Lake Taylor Friday night.

Thanks to a strong showing on defense, accurate free throw shooting, and high scoring from their seniors, Maury defeated Lake Taylor 68-60.

Seniors Jayvion Green and Adrean “Baby A” Newton both scored in double figures against Lake Taylor.

Newton led all scorers with 24 points, including three 3-pointers.

Green dropped 16, including shooting 10 out of 10 from the free throw line.

As a team, Maury shot 23 out of 25(92 percent )from the charity stripe.

Sophomore Kamryn Harrell also came alive in the fourth quarter, scoring seven of his nine points.

Maury boys basketball is now 8-2 on the season. They will play Manor High School away on Jan. 15.
