Whittler has an extensive journalism career. She anchors Good Day Atlanta and co-hosts Fox 5’s Black History Month special.

But before moving to Atlanta, Whittler reported in Richmond, Virginia, where she earned two Capital Emmy Awards and covered the Virginia Beach mass shooting and multiple weather events.

The Commodore Chronicle asked Whittler plenty of questions about her life as a journalist and any advice she had for future reporters.

Whittler stressed getting story ideas from everyday people, even if it means speaking to them in the “grocery store,” and having a work-life balance to keep your sanity.
