The Maury High School Commodores lost to the Manor High School Mustangs 71-37 on Jan.9.

Maury lost due to the inability to make shots and the staggering amount of turnovers.

Maury shot 27 percent (3/11) from the line while Manor shot 93 percent(13/14). This high volume of free throws came from a high number of fouls from both teams.

Maury also had turnover issues which led to many fast break points for Manor. The majority of the turnovers came in the back court.

The top scorers for the Commodores were Lamari Budd  and Sarajane Walker who each scored 11, the only players to get double figures for Maury. Manor’s Kaliyah Eason and Jha’Ziya Babb led all scorers with 13 points each and four Manor players scored in double digits.
