Maury outshoots Granby

The Maury High School Commodores took down the crosstown rival Granby High School Comets 62-46 on Friday, Jan. 30.

The Commodores won through their excellent three-point shooting and solid defense.

On the offensive end, the Commodores made 11 threes on the night with four of those threes coming from Kymani Johnson who had 19 on the night.

Other top scorers were Daevon Reed with 12, Travelle Saunders with nine, and Tajuan Pair with nine.

On defense, Maury held Granby to 24 at the half and 46 in total. Maury also only let Granby hit four threes against them, though they did allow 21 free throws.

Maury High School takes on Lake Taylor High School next at home on Wednesday Feb.4.
